So I bought an electric fryer on Amazon fro $129. It will supposedly fry a 20LB turkey... I’m testing it with a 7LB bird, I’ve got a 14LB for actual T-day. Not bad so far but either the bird wasn’t fully thawed or this thing is “off”... supposed to be 28mins for this 7LB turkey and I’m on like 39mins.
Good thing I did a test turkey.

Remember to not fry turkeys indoors. You are going to set stuff on fire that way.

I still don’t trust it. Also a 7lb turkey will take forever to thaw if it was frozen. That’s a pretty massive chuck of meat.

Bad call. The reason why fried turkeys are better is because frying them is the most dangerous cooking method available. The danger of using the fryer, combined with the smell of fear from those witnessing the frying, causes Flavor Endorphines to be released in the turkey, thus making it taste better.
Get the cheapest fryer you can. Wobbly legs on the base cause more danger and fear, thus making the bird taste better. Just make sure the bird is thawed completely, and that you don’t do it near any flammable structures.
